February 24-25, 2010

The National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation Inc., (NNAPF) successfully completed a 2 day Regional Research Consultation, engaging both Ontario and Quebec Treatment Centre Directors responsible for treatment and prevention services in their regions, under the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP).

As one of four regional consultations to take place nation-wide in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, this second consultation will engage Ontario and Quebec NNADAP Treatment Centre Directors, NNAPF Board members, as well as key federal and provincial Addictions Managers in a joint-session with the Anisnabe Kekendazone Network Environment for Aboriginal Health Research (AK - NEAHR) and the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH).

The purpose of the consultation is to identify research gaps and topics that are currently relevant to the addictions and mental health field. The end goal is to build research capacity through partnerships, and better inform research agendas in key areas that are pertinent to Treatment Centres and the 2010 NNADAP Renewal Process led by Health Canada, the Assembly of First Nations and the National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation.
