NNAPF Work Force Development Committee - Terms of Reference
Introduction Statement
Since its inception, the National Native Addictions Partnership Foundation (NNAPF) has been actively engaged in advancing the training and professional development interests of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit addictions workforce nation-wide. Several key activities have served to inform both gaps and challenges to better meet the needs of the NNADAP addictions workforce, including NNAPF’s National Workforce Development Survey, as well as NNAPF’s involvement in the NNADAP Renewal Forum.
In support of NNAPF’s 2nd Five-Year Workforce Development (WFD) Strategy, several observations related to training, human resource management tools, and complementary remuneration are needed to encourage the attraction and retention within the Native addictions and wellness workforce. Likewise, key to the development of the strategy is the need to respectfully engage NNAPF’s regional stakeholders in guiding the development of WFD products.
